Straw bale training programs developed by COUP, field experts and Tribal College and University partners provide the full range of classroom, lab and practical field experiences required to master this discipline.

Classes (above left) as held at United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) teach skills from blue print analysis to hands-on field work, covering all aspects of straw bale construction required for students to both build independently and to teach new classes via our 'Train the Trainers' program. Above (right) 3D model of in-depth immersive straw bale training to be offered later via online distance learning.

Our straw bale construction students also fabricate entire buildings such as the new Buffalo Management Program house built on the campus of Sinte Gleska University in Mission, South Dakota.

This structure erected in 2009 by students enrolled in the COUP course at UTTC is only the first of many such working models of energy efficient buildings that will be built for years to come on Tribal College and University campuses nationwide.
